Does my child need feeding therapy?

If you have determined that your child is a Problem Feeder, your child may benefit from feeding therapy. While there are a lot of strategies and things you can do at home, it is likely that your child has some skill deficits that are interfering with the typical eating development and will require a consult with a professional to address.

How can I get my child started in occupational therapy?

After a free 15-minute phone consultation is completed, an online intake packet will be sent to your email. Once intake forms are completed, we can schedule an evaluation if needed. Once the evaluation and treatment recommendation is completed and reviewed with caregivers, a fixed day(s) and time(s) for sessions will be reserved for the child’s treatment if indicated.

If your child has been evaluated by an outside source within the past year, results can be used to guide treatment planning.

What does an OT evaluation look like?

An evaluation consists of interviewing the caregiver to document concerns, review of parent questionnaire, observation of your child’s developmental skills during spontaneous play, and administration of a standardized assessment. For Kaiser members, Kaiser completes the assessment prior to the clinician providing treatment services.

What does an OT treatment session look like?

Treatment sessions are typically 50 minutes. The frequency and duration (e.g., 2x a week for 50 minutes) of your child’s sessions will be individualized to support their specific needs.

Caregivers are encouraged to observe and participate in the occupational therapy session. In-home treatment strategies are implemented within the home environment with caregivers.

Do you accept insurance?
