Dr. Marianna Ayers Sordille, OTD, OTR/L
Pediatric Occupational Therapist and Feeding Therapist
Marianna received her doctorate from Samuel Merritt University and has worked with children with various diagnoses in pediatric outpatient therapy and private practice. She attributes her therapeutic use of self to her understanding of the relationship between sensory systems, state-dependent functioning, and engagement. By understanding the power of connection to the brain, Marianna strives to be a relational therapist who holds the relationship with each client in the highest regard.
Her published doctoral research identified concepts that guide the occupational therapy practice of community-based OT serving youth with mental health challenges. Marianna is strongly committed to development and organizes regular meetings for a mentorship group. Her clinical training includes the sound-activated vestibular-visual protocol (Astronaut Training), Therapeutic Listening, and the SOS Approach to Feeding. Marianna enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and dogs.
